Abstract
Today there are many and varied educational experiences that are developed to pursue constant improvement in teaching and learning processes in higher education. This experience is about the evaluation of the use of an LMS (Learning Management System for its acronym in English) as a base tool for pedagogical mediation through didactic strategies designed for the signature courses, which implemented under a modality of virtual presence. Data collected from students and teachers, in focus groups, student perception survey, teacher self-evaluation and analysis of the evidence portfolio, showed that there is insufficient knowledge of the use of the LMS Canvas by students and teachers. In addition, the study reveals a relation between contents/ materials and professional development, there is not enough data to determine if the evaluation criteria contribute to learning and lastly the importance to do changes in the pedagogical mediation of the signature courses for a better approach in contents that enhance learning in virtual presence environments.
