"mad" women, Euskal Herria, Franco's regimeAbstract
Breaking the social rol has, almost always, consequences. That is the case of Carole, a woman who has been hospitalized in a psychiatric institution in Gipuzkoa between 1949 and 1950. Carole was Belge and she highlighted explicitly the characteristics of Franco's regime. Based on a letter she wrote during her hospitalization and on her medical report, this article composes an image of the morality and the society in that time in the southern Euskal Herria. Furthermore, through an analysis of an individual case, not only silences and repression will surface but also the resistances.Downloads
