Resum

Emprender un viaje al pasado permite dar respuesta a muchas de las incógnitas que gravitan sobre un determinado tema. Asimismo, también se puede decir que recorrer, desde una perspectiva analítica, la línea temporal que va dibujando a lo largo de la historia una cuestión concreta, ofrece una visión integral del asunto. Por consiguiente, para que los acontecimientos futuros tomen el rumbo deseado y finalmente se alcance la cristalización del crimen de ecocidio en el derecho internacional, resulta imprescindible conocer el origen y aquellos casos paradigmáticos que colocaron en primera fila el apremio por componer toda una base teórica que sustentara este crimen, además de la odisea conceptual que ha transitado el ecocidio hasta la fecha.
